Summer theme birthday card (guy appropriate)!

Image
Hi, Today I am sharing the birthday card I have created for my husband next week. Like many, I struggle with 'man' cards, and as my other half isn't into football, fishing or cars, options are often limited! I have done cricket to death over the years, so this year I have gone for a summer/ beach theme, and I will add a little ironic message to it, as like everyone else, we probably won't be going anywhere hot and sunny this year (maybe next year?) I bought a box of craft supplies on Facebook market place, and it was full of MDF shapes, including the large beach hut. This went well with the papers in the First Edition 'Sail Away' 6"x6" paper pad, so I painted it to match with some docrafts Artiste acrylic paints. I picked three of the papers from the pad, and trimmed three panels to layer onto my 5"x7" kraft card blank. I used a scrap of a fourth paper to cut out the small tag using a Spellbinders Sapphire tag die. I inked around the outside ...

Stamps By Me different Colouring Techniques and 8 cards!

Image
Hi, For those who have been reading my blog recently, you might remember that I have been trying to use all my 'un-inked' stamps, because as we all know, buying and using craft supplies are two different hobbies right? 😂 Today I am sharing a bunch of cards using various Stamps By Me stamp sets, most of them have been Create and Craft members free gift stamps at some point, so I imagine a lot of people out there will have them. I think they are all still available either through Create and Craft or direct from Stamps By Me if you see something you really love. I have been stamping in different mediums, and colouring in different techniques, often while watching a film in the evenings with the family, so no video to go with them, just a quick description of what I did for each and how it was coloured. Here's all the cards I am sharing today, if you would like to see more detail and which stamps they are, keep scrolling! Stamps by Me - Made With Love These cards are a simple ...

Two cards, minimal supplies with Altenew Amazing You and Distress Oxide Inks

Image
Hi, I have been challenging myself to use all the stamps I have never inked before, so I have been stamping on all my scraps ready to use up with different techniques. For anyone who has been crafting for a while, we often get so caught up in all our lovely stash that we don't get on and make things. For anyone new to crafting, you. might not have all the amazing stash that you see long time crafters using. Today I thought it would be good to use minimal supplies, and see what I could come up with. The kraft flowers look brighter in day light than on my desk, scroll to the end if you would like to see them in natural light (I have no natural light in my craft room so rely on a daylight lamp.) Today I used the Altenew Amazing You stamps set and matching dies - I bought this set from another crafter when they were de-stashing, because I loved the sentiment that I used on the cards today. I started with my stamped scraps, using every stamp in the set, except the sentiments, on white s...

Rainbow cards and batch-making tips

Image
Hi, Well after a hectic half term week with my girls getting no work set from school (I can't really say 'with them at home', as they haven't been to school since March like most kids in the UK),  I have finally managed to finish making cards from all the backgrounds I made with my rainbow technique. I made 27 cards in total, with only the two stamped flowers not being used (they are still in my bits box!)  This was my favourite in the end. It took a few sessions, and I didn't film it as it was all fairly basic card making, but I have included pictures of all the cards and some tips for batch-making cards, even when you are doing lots of different designs. Tip 1 - Pick a regular size (A6, 6"x6" etc.) I did do a bit of pre-planning before I made all my backgrounds, I cut all of the card I was stamping on to UK A5 before I started and either stamped two different images on them at the same time, or stamped one side and rotated to get my second impression, My...
