Me to You (Tatty Teddy) Sweet Shop Decoupage Cards

Image
Hi! So today I have been having a go at filming my makes because I know lots of people like a video rather than lots of words and description. I have made a few simple cards, trying out different ways to video them, plus some cards I made without videoing as a little bonus. The videos are linked further down this blog and will send you off to YouTube :) I have simply been using up decoupage I had, which I assemble while watching TV with the family in the evenings. Today I was using a pad of 'sweet' Tatty Teddy decoupage from Trimcraft. This is one whole set of the teddies from this pad, there are three sets of them in total in the pad, all cut, ready to pop out and assemble.  My first few cards I didn't video, but really they were just a bit of matting and layering. Some of the teddies have a background, and some don't, so I had to create a little mat for one of them. The background paper is from DCWV, from their The Sweet Matstack. The stampe

Hi! Today I thought I would try to make some cards a bit more suitable for guys. Like many card makers, I find guy cards can be tricky because so much of the crafting stuff out there has a pretty feminine look, plus I have two daughters so I tend to lean towards girl cards when making things for children. I was inspired by a technique on the amazing Jennifer McGuire's blog today, but my card looks nothing like hers, I just borrowed bits of her techniques to use some things I already had. Three geometric guy cards! I had an old Inkadinkado wood mounted background stamp that I must have had for over 10 years. I rarely use is, but it worked pretty well for this technique. First I cut some white stamping card to the same size as my card blanks. Then I used an antistatic bag on it, stamped with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with a fine detail white embossing powder on the centre of the each panel. Time to get out some inks! Then I got out three shades of ink

Hi! Yes, I know, I haven't been blogging the in the last month or so! Little secret, it was my 40th last month and we had lots of things planned (I got a surprise trip to Milan and bought.... nothing for myself!!) Plus lots of other 'real-life' things got in the way, but I am back, and I have been crafting, just not posting, so I might do a few catch up posts to show what I have been up to... However this is what I made today!  Unicorn encouragement cards I like to make some generic cards, that you could use for all occasions. I'd say these are encouragement cards that you could send to someone about to takes exams, or for anyone who might just need a little boost. Kindness seems to get a little lost in our world sometimes, and I know this would brighten my day if it landed on the door mat amongst all the bills and junk mail! I used a stamp set that has, shamefully, been sitting in my stash for a while un-used (but not un-loved!) from Visible I
