Gorjuss Girl 3D Decoupage

Image
Hi, So in my continuing mission to use up things sitting in my crafty stash, I have been trying to use up all of my 3D decoupage. Anyone who has tried this, knows that the most time consuming part is assembling all the pieces, especially if, like me, you obsessively snip any little pips off from where it was attached to the carrier sheet and then shape each piece before ticking it all together! So, I have been sitting with a little tray in the evenings when watching TV with the family, popping out the decoupage and assembling it. Then, I can have a big session making up the cards during the day when the kids are at school! I was a bit lacking in mojo this week, so there's nothing very complicated going on here, so here's just a few pictures and quick tips :) Here's all the decoupage I started with, made up the night before in front of the TV!  First I lay everything out with all the extra bits that match the various colourways, including tags and sentiment st

Unicorns and Mermaids Stamp, Scan and Cut Tests

Image
Hi Everyone! So I have been playing with some new stamps, all mermaids and unicorns, I have two daughters, so you will have to excuse me for going a little bit girlie! And apologies now, this is a really long and technical post, unless you want to read up on the Brother Scan N Cut, feel free to skip the text, look at the photos and skip to the bonus photo at the end if you want to hear my thoughts on ink and alcohol markers! ;) These are the three stamp sets I will be using. I bought them all without retail packaging, so have had to have a hunt around to check who they are made by, but the mermaids are from My Favourite Things, the unicorn/ horse/ pegasus set on the right is from The Greeting Farm and it a set called Magical Friends (this is printed on the stamps helpfully!), but I am yet to find who the unicorns in the middle are made by, so if you have any idea, please let me know in the comments! EDIT: Finally found who manufactures these stamps, they are from Newton's

60th Male Card

Image
Hi! So I got a last minute request for a 'department' card from my other half for someone at his work who is turning 60... The brief: Monster Red Ducati Motorbike - well at least it was something to go on! As I was in a bit of a hurry, I didn't do progress photos, but it's all pretty self explanatory really... A quick google search for a picture I could borrow (no commercial gain, personal use only!), some red and black card, an Xcut embossing folder, a couple of die-cut numbers and a few circle die-cuts later... The 'Mark' personalisation is from a real old Dymo labelling machine that the Altenew (Craftwork Cards do these as well) Label Love stamps are designed to mimic. My quick tip would be to not discount an embossing folder like the A6 Xcut one I used on this, I simply matched the pattern as best I could across the middle of my card and then added a card strip to cover the join. That's it for today. Lesley x Supplies: Dies To

Craftwork Cards Wreath Kit Box Frames and Card

Image
Hi! The final post in the Craftwork Cards Wreath series, I finally got around to finishing the frames with the last of my leftover flowers! These were done in the same way as the pink colourway, so if you want a more detailed how-to on these, check the links to my older posts in January, that should be over here somewhere!---> Bonus little card with the last few flowers and a black die cut leaf cluster. That's it for today! Lesley x Supplies: Craftwork Cards Wreath Kit (monochrome colourway from 2012) Small frames (pound shop!) Pearl embellishments (pound shop!) Tools Hot Glue gun Firm foam mat Glass mat Tonic large embossing tool Strong tacky PVA glue (I used Collall Tacky-glue today as it is pretty quick drying and strong enough to hold the dimensional flowers)
