Monochrome Craftwork Cards Wreaths

Image
Hi! Just a quick update, that I will return with some new crafty posts, but at the moment I am re-fitting our downstairs cloak room and am in the throws of re-tiling, and putting in a new sink and towel rail! I didn't think the progress photos of that would be too interesting! So crafting is a bit on hold (I might have had a sneaky day off to Crafting Live at Sandown on Friday and come back with more stuff... I was very good and didn't buy anymore patterned papers (okay I did, but they were £1 each in a 12 for £10 deal so it doesn't count!) I did manage to squeeze in a little crafting and to finish the wreaths from the last Craftwork Cards pack in the monochrome colourway - I still need to finish the picture frames to go with them! I didn't do any inking on this set, so I might go back and add some subtle sparkle with my new (yes Crafting Live purchase) Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Overlay Brush Pens, but that will have to wait for another day! Quick Extra Card from the Craftwork Cards Wreath leftovers

Image
Hi, I said I would make a card with the leftover flowers from the Craftwork Card Wreaths I made earlier today, so here it is! :) A super quick Thank You card! The die-cut leaves are a single die that I cut from a scrap of American Crafts cardstock in my bits box. The die is from M&C Boutique, which is the brand you find in The Works (UK). In case you ever looked at them and wondered if they are any good, I think they are fantastic and a much lower price point than some you can find, this one cost £3 and as you can see is over 3" (8cm). The stamp is from Craftwork Cards Stamp It II set of clear stamps, again stamp on a scrap from my bits box. Craftwork Cards Wreaths and Bonus Frames

Hi! Did you make any new year's resolutions? I make the same one every year - use up the craft products I have before buying any more... so here I am trying to stick to it this year! I decided to use up a lovely Craftwork Cards wreath set that I have had for years. What you see today is only a third of the kit which I bought I have to admit, several years ago (2012 to be precise!) I have used one third that was in red and green - Christmas colours - I sold all those wreaths at a school craft fair. I had made one wreath from the colour way I used today, and it has been used in my house in different guises, around a candle as home décor, and hung on a wall. So all I did today was copy the one wreath I had made years ago! These are what I ended up with today Craftwork Cards kits are great. Their flowers are already cut out, ready for you to pop out of a sheet and craft with. I popped all my flowers out and inked them all a little with some pale pink ink. Then came t

Left over letter die-cuts cards!

Hi! Remember those left over die-cut letters I had? Well being a crafter, I throw nothing away (much to my husband's annoyance ;P) so I thought rather than putting them in my bits box, I would make a couple of cards straight away to use them up. Again my inspiration came from a Jennifer McGuire blog post, which you can find here: 3 WAYS: Alphabet and Word Dies 3 WAYS: Alphabet & Word Dies These are the cards I ended up with today This was a simple pair of cards using the same letter dies from Xcut , still taped together, on a stamped panel, using up the left over die-cuts to layer under the letters to raise them off the surface so they stand out from the card. Today I used the Altenew Tulip stamp set, and various Altenew inks. This is what the stamp set looks like, so you can see the various layers As I was making two cards, and these stamps aren't easiest to line up perfectly, I used a stamping tool which is basically a hinged frame that allows you

Die Cut Word Window Cards

Hi! My second blog post, and I thought I would attempt a post of what I made yesterday, rather than something I made a while ago. I tried to remember to take photos as I went along, so you can get an idea of what went into these cards. I was inspired by a card on the amazingly talented Jennifer McGuire's blog which is the end of this link:  Jennifer McGuire's Die-cut layering card Blog My version is a little different, but I am sure you will see where it came from if you check out the link. So here's the finished cards, so you can see where I was heading... Sorry for my terrible photography, it's certainly not my strongest point! I actually made four cards, two birthday and two hugs that has slightly different sentiments. So the first thing I did was create a bunch of flowers. I made these with the Altenew Painted flowers stamp and die set, but this card type of card would work with many different stamps or even ready cut out flowers. Ou

Unicorn Shaker Card

For my first ever post, I thought I would share a photo, of what is probably, the favourite card I have ever made that was my own design, rather than me borrowing ideas from all the other talented makers out there! The beautiful Unicorn stamp  and sentiment were part of The Enchanted Collection free stamps that came with Creative Stamping Magazine . The cloud dies are from an X-Cut set called Around the World , but I am sure there are cloud dies in many other sets that would work equally well. I used a mixture of white cards, some textured and some not, from my stash. and scraps of vellum for the clouds. I stamped the unicorns, and as I hate cutting out, I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut them out. It can take a little but of playing to get it to do this nicely I find, but it is worth it for a sheet of intricate stamps! Then I coloured all my unicorns with a rainbow of alcohol markers, adding a little pale grey for the shadows on the outlines. I simply used the
